Two seasons
The game ran for two seasons (Season 1 ran for eight episodes, and Season 2 ran for five episodes) between 2015 and 2017, and last year, Telltale Games signed a deal with Netflix to bring its games to the streaming service, and a five-episode season of Minecraft: Story Mode debuted in November.
In November 2018, Telltale Games began the process of closing down the studio due to financial issues. Most of its games started to become delisted from digital storefronts, including Minecraft: Story Mode. According to GOG.com, they had to pull the title due to “expiring licensing rights”.
Minecraft Story Mode offers a chance to start a point-and-click adventure in the world of Minecraft. The first season of the interactive show landed on various platforms between 2015 and 2016. The second season followed in December 2017. The title finally found its way to Netflix a couple of years ago.
As we said above, it’s very unlikely. Telltale never planned a third season after season 2 concluded in December 2017 likely because of dwindling sales. That means we’re likely now done with Minecraft: Story Mode on Netflix which wasn’t the original plan but we’re glad to see some of the episodes see the light of day.
Although Minecraft is a game enjoyed by millions and surpassed selling 176 million copies worldwide, the demise of Telltale ultimately caused this to happen to Minecraft: Story Mode as “its publisher is no longer in business, which unfortunately means that Minecraft: Story Mode will no longer be supported.”
Romeo, also known as “the Admin”, is the main antagonist of Minecraft: Story Mode, serving as an unseen antagonist in Season One and the main antagonist of Season Two.
